
Knox Luttrell (1842-1865) was an American Union Army veteran and criminal from Chicago, Illinois.
Biography[]
Knox Luttrell was born in Kankakee, Illinois in 1842. He served in the 76th Illinois Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War before being mustered out in 1865 and settling in Chicago. Luttrell found work in a factory, but, after snapping due to PTSD, he killed two of his coworkers with factory tools before being subdued, arrested, and hanged for his crimes.
