The Knights of the Golden Circle was a secret society of pro-slavery activists in the United States that was formed in 1854 with the goal of annexing 25 states in Mexico, taking over Central America, northern South America, Cuba, and the Caribbean as slave states. The KGC was a white nationalist and racist organization, and it opened up chapters across the American South to support the secession of the Confederate States of America.
