The Kiyohara, also called the Kiyowara, were a major feudal Japanese samurai clan from northern Honshu who were formerly the rulers of Dewa Province. Having been driven out after the Later Three Years' War in 1089, the Kiyohara clan were allowed to rule Etchu Province in northern central Honshu, and maintained this land until the Nitta clan conquered it in the 1170s.
