Kino Gabriel was a commander of the Syriac Military Council and Syrian Democratic Forces during the Syrian Civil War.
Biography[]
Kino Gabriel was born to a family of Catholic Assyrians in Syria, and he was a leader of the Syriac Military Council during the Syrian Civil War in order to defend the Assyrian people from persecution by the Islamic State and Islamist groups. Gabriel oversaw the formation of the Syrian Democratic Forces in 2015 with the assistance of the People's Protection Units and some secular Arab groups and other Kurdish and Assyrian forces, uniting the anti-IS forces in northern Syria; he would be one of the leaders of the MFS during the offensive to liberate Raqqa Governorate.
