Kingdom of Kush

Kush was an ancient kingdom in Nubia that existed from 785 BC to 350 AD, with Napata and Meroe serving as its capitals. Following the Late Bronze Age collapse and the disintegration of the New Kingdom of Egypt, Kushite rule began in Nubia, and Kashta established the Kushite Empire after conquering Egypt in the 8th century BC. This rule lasted for a century, when the Assyrians conquered Egypt. The Kushites returned to their imperial capital of Meroe, and Kush persisted until the 4th century AD, when it disintegrated due to an internal rebellion. The Nubians went on to establish the Christianized kingdoms of Nobatia, Makuria, and Alodia.
