Robert James Ritchie (17 January 1971-), known professionally as Kid Rock, is an American musician and record producer. He was a notable Republican Party supporter within the music industry.

Robert James Ritchie was born in Romeo, Michigan on 17 January 1971, and he ran away to Mount Clemens at the age of 15 before performing basement parties at night to make a living for himself. He performed hip hop between 1990 and 1997, and he gained distinction in the rap rock genre after being signed by Atlantic Records in 1998. In 2001, he entered the country rock genre, and his 2007 song "All Summer Long" became a major hit.
Kid Rock was a Republican Party supporter, and he identified as a libertarian. In 2011, he allowed for Mitt Romney's presidential campaign to use his song "Born Free" as its anthem, and he campaigned for Romney. In 2013, he criticized Republican lawmakers in New York for attempting to raise ticket prices, but he endorsed Ben Carson for the presidency in 2015; he then went on to support Donald Trump after he won his party's nomination. In 2017, he considered running for a US Senate seat from Michigan.
