The Khorezm People's Soviet Republic was a socialist republic in Central Asia that existed from 1920 to 1925, with Khiva serving as its capital. The PSR was established after the ruler of the Khanate of Khiva was forced to abdicate in February 1920, with the First Khorezm Kurultay ruling the country. On 20 October 1923, the republic became the Khorezm Socialist Soviet Republic, and the Khorezm SSR was partitioned into the Russian SFSR, Uzbek SSR, and Turkmen SSR.
