The Khorasan Group is a cell of 50 senior al-Qaeda members that work together with the al-Nusra Front in Syria. Led by Muhsin al-Fadhli and David Drugeon, the group was targeted by the United States in Operation Inherent Resolve due to their terrorist threats.

The "Khorasan Group" was formed in March 2012 by Muhsin al-Fadhli and Mohammed Islambouli, and it was monitored by the United States for two years. The group made threats against US airlines, and it was based out of Aleppo Governorate from 2012 to 2014 and then out of Idlib Governorate. The organization was revealed to the American public in September 2014, but many suspected the government of exaggerating the group's threat; they were said to be a bigger threat than the Islamic State. The USAF launched Operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq and Syria, and in 2015 both Muhsin al-Fadhli and the French bomb-maker David Drugeon were killed, diminishing their threat and leaving ISIS as the main threat to the US.
