Kenneth III of Scotland (962-1005) was King of Scotland from 997 to 1005, succeeding Constantine III and preceding Malcolm II.
Biography[]
Coinneach mac Dhuibh was born in Scotland in 962, a son of King Dub of Scotland. Kenneth was a direct ancestor of the MacDuff family of Fife, and he came to power in 997 after killing the usurper Constantine III of Scotland in battle. In 1005, he was killed in battle by Malcolm at Monzievaird, and Malcolm succeeded him as King.
