Kenkichi Ogami (1934-19 December 1988) was a Japanese yakuza criminal and the head of the Omi Alliance headquarters during the 1980s. On 19 December 1988, he was sent to meet with the Shimano-gumi boss Futoshi Shimano at his headquarters in Tokyo to finalize his deal to betray Kabukicho's Empty Lot to the Omi Alliance in exchange for the chairmanship of the Tojo-kai. However, Goro Majima interrupted the meeting to inform his boss that the Empty Lot was now in the Nikkyo Consortium's hands, and that Masaru Sera wanted the Shimano-gumi to take charge of rooting out the "traitor" in the family ranks, despite knowing that Shimano himself was the traitor. Majima then handed Shimano a handgun and told him to pick a side, and, rather than shoot Majima, Shimano turned the gun on Ogami and shot him in the forehead, instantly killing him. This caused a rift between Shimano and the Omi Alliance and the execution of Shimano's sworn brother and Majima's handler, Tsukasa Sagawa, in January 1989.
