Kelsey Grammer (21 February 1955-) was an American actor, comedian, producer, director, writer, singer, and Republican Party activist.
Biography[]
Kelsey Grammer was born in Charlotte Amalie, Saint Thomas, US Virgin Islands on 21 February 1955. His parents divorced when he was two, and he was raised by his mother and his grandfather; his grandfather died when Kelsey was eleven, and his father was murdered two years later. His sister would be murdered in 1975, and his wife had a miscarriage in 1992; Grammer was known for having to deal withs several personal tragedies.
In 1975, Grammer graduated from the Julliard School, and he became a stage actor after graduating. He would later become a television actor, playing the psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane for twenty years on the shows Cheers and Frazier. Grammer won five Primetime Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and one Tony Award, winning his fifth Primetime Emmy Award for his voice role in The Simpsons as "Sideshow Bob".
Grammer became known as a famous Hollywood conservative, being affiliated with the Republican Party. Grammer expressed an interest in running for the US Congress, Mayor of New York City, or even President of the United States. He endorsed Rudy Giuliani as the 2008 Republican presidential nominee, and he later campaigned for John McCain.
In 2012, he endorsed Tea Party candidate Michelle Bachmann as the Republican presidential nominee, and he endorsed Mitt Romney after he won the nomination. In 2016, he supported Ben Carson, but he endorsed Donald Trump after he won the nomination. Grammer supported small government, lower taxes, and anti-abortion causes, but he was once in favor of a woman's right to choose, and he also supported same-sex marriage.
