Kehar Singh (died 6 January 1989) was an Assistant in the Directorate General of Supply and Disposal in India, and he was the uncle of Bhai Beant Singh.
Biography[]
Kehar Singh was from the Punjab region of India, and he was a Sikh. Singh was the uncle of Bhai Beant Singh, and in 1984 he gave his nephew counsel during his plan to assassinate Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Gandhi was assassinated by Singh, and Singh was later tried for conspiracy against the life of Gandhi. Singh was hanged on 6 January 1989 in the Tihar Jail, and he was considered a martyr of Sikhism.
