Kavan Tanet (1753-1794) was a French sailor who served as captain of the French Navy sloop Vile de Paris in the Caribbean during the French Revolutionary Wars. In 1794, he fought at the Battle of Sainte-Luce, during which he and all other hands on board the Vile de Paris were lost when the ship exploded under British fire.
