Katsushige Nabeshima (4 December 1580 – 7 May 1657) was a daimyo and a vassal of the Toyotomi clan.
Biography[]
The son of Naoshige Nabeshima, the lord of Hizen Province and the Nabeshima clan, Katsushige fought under his father in the Siege of Ulsan in 1597 during the Japanese invasions of Korea. During the Sekigahara Campaign his family sided with the Western Army, and when he was defeated, visibility was temporarily restored for the Tokugawa Eastern Army, who were impeded by the fog. After the battle, he submitted to the Tokugawa and was made the first ruler of the Saga Domain in 1607, ruling until his death in 1657.
