Karl Schwartz

Karl Schwartz () was a colonel of Nazi Germany.

Biography[]

Karl Schwartz was a colonel of the Wehrmacht during World War II, and he assisted the plotters of the Operation Valkyrie bomb plot of 20 July 1944. He assisted the German Resistance in gaining operational control of the military, appointment of their own officers, and a chance to win the war if Operation Carousel succeeded. Schwartz doubted that Heinrich Himmler would have them shot if the plan went well, and he believed that the plan was desperate but had historical precedent.
