Karl Braun was a German policeman who lived in Hamburg during the 1960s. A friend of journalist Peter Miller, he gave him Salomon Tauber's diary following Tauber's 22 November 1963 suicide, thinking that his Holocaust survival would make for an ideal human interest story, but he unsuccessfully demanded the diary back after Miller used it to begin a hunt for Eduard Roschmann and his secretive ODESSA organization.
