Kareem Tarik-Amir

Kareem Tarik-Amir was a Moroccan-German criminal and a cofounder of the Tarik-Amir clan of Berlin.

Biography[]

Kareem Tarik-Amir was born in Kaiserwarte, Berlin, Germany, the brother of drug kingpin Hakim Tarik-Amir and the cousin of Raif Tarik-Amir. He and his brother cofounded the Tarik-Amir clan of drug traffickers, agreeing that whoever made the most money would be the clan's boss. During the 2010s, Kareem ran his brother's security, as well as the clan's limousine business. In 2018, Kareem took the aspiring rapper Murad Issam under his wing, and he also attempted to cut a deal with "betting mafia" boss Tomo Kovac to fix football matches and make millions for both of them, which would allow Kareem to out-earn his brother and become the new boss. Kovac was initially uninterested, and, when Kareem grew persistent, Kovac publicly humiliated Kareem, who then said that, if Germany lost, he would flip Kovac his middle finger, and, if Germany won, he would flip Kovac both middle fingers; Kovac took him up on this satirical offer, with both of their clans as witnesses, causing Kareem to panic. However, Kareem agreed to the bargain, and, when Turkey won the game due to Raphael Bou'Penga's coincidental failure to make a penalty shot, Kovac agreed to partner with Kareem.

The two clans fell out after news emerged of the footballer Orkan Erdem's death, resulting in a gang war between the two organizations. While Tomo Kovac was in jail amid a police crackdown on the Kovac clan, Kareem bought out the Kovac clan's betting shops, destroying Tomo's operations and forcing him to flee Berlin. The ambitious Kareem also started an affair with his brother's fiance Kamila and planned to take control of the clan with the help of the policeman Kurt Grimmer, whom he blackmailed (through threatening to leak his gambling slips) into ordering a raid on Kreuzberg during his brother's wedding to Kamila. Unbeknownst to Kareem, Grimmer obtained a baseball bat which Kareem had been playing around with, and he planted the bat in the trunk of Erdem's Lamborghini to implicate him in Erdem's murder. During the ensuing raid, both Kareem and his brother were arrested, along with 35 of their armed supporters, and they were sentenced to long prison terms after their drug and weapons stashes were discovered.
