Biography[]
Kareem Akbar was born in Harlem, Manhattan, New York City in 1962. Akbar was a smart student and went on to become a tech-savvy bank teller, leaving the hood behind. However, he decided to work for Cash Money Brothers leader Nino Brown, as he made the choice to make $8,000 a week as a gangster instead of $800 a week as a teller. He was sent to wire the Carter Apartments and keep its tenants under the watch of the CMB, ensuring that they were loyal customers. He proved himself by identifying Pookie Robinson as an informant, and Robinson was killed. Akbar later identified Scotty Appleton as a friend of Pookie, leading to a shootout between Appleton and his NYPD partner Nick Peretti and the gang. Akbar was later arrested, and Brown accused Akbar of being the true leader of the gang while he was on trial.
