Kandan Kumar (died 1842) was an Indian tribesman and builder belonging to the Malaiyali tribe. He, alongside many others, built several huts as settlement on the Yelagiri Hills in modern-day Jolarpet. During his time, he was larcenous, known to have stolen several materials for his own desire which were meant for construction. One evening, however, in 1832, he was killed after a large brick of clay fell on his head.
