Kanai Tetsu

Kanai Tetsu (1591-1615) was a samurai of the Toyotomi clan.

Biography[]

Kanai Tetsu was born in Shimanto, Tosa Province, Shikoku. Tetsu was a loyal warrior of the Toyotomi clan, and he was one of the warriors that flocked to the banner of Hideyori Toyotomi at Osaka Castle in 1615. Tetsu engaged in single combat with Akamine Hideo and killed him with his spear, and he celebrated this victory. However, he was killed later in the battle as the Tokugawa overwhelmed the garrison.
