Kanae Takeuchi (1967-), known as Kanae-chan while working, was a Japanese hostess who worked at the Cabaret Grand in Dotonbori, Osaka during the 1980s. By 12 December 1988, she was the newest hostess at the club, but she got along poorly with the veteran hostess Sakurako-chan, who attempted to exert her seniority at Kanae-chan's expense. Her manager, Goro Majima, later gave Kanae-chan a talk about mending her relations with Sakurako, and, while Kanae initially asked Majima to stop sugar-coating his message, he gave her hope about becoming the club's best hostess, and an inspired Kanae promised to work hard to become the ideal hostess and to make Majima proud.
