Kamal Hadianfar was a Brigadier-General of the Iranian Police and the inaugural commander of the Iranian Cyber Police. He took command of the police force on 23 January 2011, and it was originally operational in the Tehran area, and, by the end of the Iranian year, police stations across the country came to have their own cyber units.
