The KS-23 is a Soviet-made shotgun that was introduced in 1971. The shotgun was designed with the intention of being used by Soviet prison guards to put down prison riots, firing a 23 mm round. Today, it is used by prison guards in Kazakhstan, by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB in Russia, and by the customs service of Uzbekistan.
