Jundallah is an Islamist terrorist militant group founded in 1996 in Pakistan with the goal of establishing a Central Asian caliphate. Jundallah was led by Hakimullah Mehsud until his assassination in 2013, and it had varying strength estimates; in 2014, the group was said to have had up to 12,000 fighters, while a 2015 report gave it 400-1,000 fighters. The group was responsible for several attacks, including the June 2013 murder of tourists in Gilgit-Baltistan, a September 2013 church bombing, and attacks on Shia mosques and people. On 17 November 2014, Jundallah swore allegiance to the Islamic State.
