Julio Enrique Moreno

Julio Enrique Moreno (20 October 1879-2 April 1952) was President of Ecuador from 10 March to 1 April 1926 (succeeding Humberto Albornoz and preceding Isidro Ayora) and from 10 to 31 August 1940 (succeeding Andres Cordova and preceding Carlos Alberto Arroyo del Rio).

Biography[]

Julio Enrique Moreno was born in Quito, Ecuador in 1879. He worked as a jurist before taking part in the junta that ruled Ecuador after the July Revolution of 1925. He later served as Interior Minister under Isidro Ayora until 1929, and he facilitated Ayora's downfall. He again exercised executive power in August 1940, and he died in 1952.
