
Juliette N. Kayyem (16 August 1969-) was the US Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for Intergovernmental Affairs from 2009 to 2010, succeeding Anne Petera and preceding Betsy Markey.
Biography[]
Juliette Kayyem was born in Los Angeles, California in 1969, the daughter of Lebanese immigrants, and she became a Department of Justice lawyer in 1995. From 2009 to 2010, she served under President Barack Obama as Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security, and she launched a failed Democratic primary bid for Governor of Massachusetts in 2013.
