Judy Gemstone was born in Rogers, South Carolina in 1984, the daughter of the Pentecostal televangelists Eli and Aimee-Leigh Gemstone. She was raised on the massive family compound , She attended public High-school in the early 00s , As a adult she has her own mansion, and, while her brothers Jesse and Kelvin Gemstone accompanied their father on evangelizing missions around the world, Judy - as a woman in a devoutly Christian household - was relegated to serving as the church's secretary. She was left with a chip on her shoulder towards her family, and she was drawn away from her family's strict Christian ideals when she began dating BJ Barnes, a liberal and middle-class resident of Charleston who introduced her to progressive ideals. In 2019, she helped her brothers steal $1 million to help Jesse pay off blackmailers who threatened to smear the family, and she became involved in her brothers' secret troubles. She later joined her uncle Baby Billy Freeman as a singer and dancer after she had enough of being upstaged by her brothers, but Baby Billy decided to cancel their performances together after Eli, seeing his daughter's talents, decided to have Judy and Baby Billy perform at his Easter Sunday services, ruining Baby Billy's plot to get revenge against Eli. Judy's arrogance during her dancing and singing days led to BJ leaving her, as she grew angry at him for encouraging her to stand up to Baby Billy. After Baby Billy left town, Judy attempted to win back BJ, and she was thrown in jail after destroying his coworker's car after the coworker attempted to prevent Judy from harassing BJ at his job. Ultimately, she met with BJ at Outback Steakhouse to return his belongings to him and confided that he was her first sexual partner and that he meant more to her than she let on, and BJ later snuck into the family compound to speak with Judy. While BJ was tazed by security, he met with Judy at the compound's hospital and persuaded her to rekindle their relationship, and the couple united once again.
