At 2:00 PM on 20 June 2020, she, her mother, her cousin Rosalba, and at least 22 other Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel members were arrested in Celaya, Guanajuato, and the authorities also confiscated a kilogram of meth, several vehicles, firearms, and ammunitions, and $89,000 in the possession of Maria Ortiz. Maria, Juana, and Rosalba were accused of running the cartel's finances for Jose Antonio.
