
Jovita Carranza was Treasurer of the United States (R) from 19 June 2017, succeeding Rosa Gumataotao Rios.
Biography[]
Jovita Carranza was born in Chicago, Illinois to a Mexican immigrant family, and she worked as a box packer for UPS before rising in the ranks to become Vice President of Air Operations. She later became President and CEO of the JCR Group consulting firm, and she was involved with small business organizations and Mexican-American advocacy groups. From December 2006 to January 2009, she served as George W. Bush's Deputy Administrator of the Small Business Administration, and President Donald Trump had her appointed Treasurer in 2017.
