Josie Plumford

Josie Plumford (1862-) was an African-American farmer who lived in Chamberlain, South Dakota during the 1890s. In 1898, she was kidnapped by the outlaws Robert L. Kimble, John Henry Travis, and Bobby Cooke Toohey near Alpena, but she was rescued by the Arizona Kid, who gunned down the three outlaws at their remote campsite and cut Plumford free of her bonds.
