Josiah Chowning (6 March 1726-) was an American tavernkeeper who owned Chowning's Tavern in Williamsburg, Virginia during the mid-18th century. In 1766, he issued a Virginia Gazette advertisement promising "the best of entertainment for themselves, servants, and horses, and good pasturage."
