Joshua Holt (1992-) was an American Mormon missionary who, along with his wife Thamara Candelo, was detained in Venezuela from June 2016 to May 2018. He met his wife online and travelled to Venezuela to meet her in person, only for both of them to be arrested by anti-gang police in Caracas. They were accused of stockpiling weapons, and he was imprisoned at "The Helix" prison in Caracas until Utah politicians Mia Love and Orrin Hatch helped to secure his release. On 24 August 2020, he and his wife appeared in a Republican National Convention video, in which they praised Donald Trump for his role in freeing them.
