Joseph Trumbull governor

Joseph Trumbull (7 December 1782-4 August 1861) was a member of the US House of Representatives (W-CN) from 1 December 1834 to 3 March 1835 (succeeding William W. Ellsworth and preceding Elisha Haley) and from CN-1 from 4 March 1839 to 3 March 1843 (succeeding Isaac Toucey and preceding Thomas H. Seymour), and Governor of Connecticut from 2 May 1849 to 4 May 1850 (succeeding Clark Bissell and preceding Thomas Seymour).

Biography[]

Joseph Trumbull was born in Lebanon, Connecticut in 1782, and he served as president of the Hartford Bank from 1828 to 1839, as a National Republican member of the state house in 1832, in the US House of Representatives from 1834 to 1835 and from 1839 to 1843, and as Governor from 1849 to 1850. He died in Hartford in 1861.
