Joseph Lawrence (1786-17 April 1842) was a member of the US House of Representatives (NR-PA 15) from 4 March 1825 to 3 March 1829 (succeeding Thomas Patterson and preceding William McCreery) and from PA-21 from 4 March 1841 to 17 April 1842 (succeeding Isaac Leet and preceding Thomas M.T. Thompson). Born in Hunterstown, he worked as a farmer before serving in the state house from 1818 to 1824 and from 1834 to 1836, in Congress from 1825 to 1829, as Treasurer of Pennsylvania from 1835 to 1836, and as a congressman from 1841 until his death in 1842.
