Joseph John Martin

Joseph John Martin (21 November 1833-18 December 1900) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-NC 1) from 4 March 1879 to 3 March 1881, interrupting Jesse Johnson Yeates' terms.

Biography[]

Joseph John Martin was born in Williamston, North Carolina in 1833, and he practiced law before serving as Martin County prosecuting attorney, as a state solicitor, and in the US House of Representatives from 1879 to 1881. He went on to practice law in Tarboro and serve as its postmaster from 1897 to 1900, and he died in office.
