Joseph Hall ME

Joseph Hall (26 June 1793-31 December 1859) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-ME 6) from 4 March 1833 to 3 March 1837, succeeding Leonard Jarvis and preceding Hugh J. Anderson. Born in Methuen, Massachusetts, he worked as a merchant in Camden, Maine before serving in the War of 1812, as sheriff, as postmaster of Camden from 830 to 1833 and from 1837 to 1838, in Congress, as measurer in the Boston customhouse from 1838 to 1846, as a naval agent from 1846 to 1849, and as a failed mayoral candidate in Boston in 1849.
