Joseph Hasbrouck Tuthill (25 February 1811-27 July 1877) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-NY 13) from 4 March 1871 to 3 March 1873, succeeding John Ashley Griswold and preceding John O. Whitehouse.

Biography[]

Joseph Hasbrouck Tuthill was born in Blooming Grove, Orange County, New York in 1811, and he moved to New York City in 1828, Wawarsing in Ulster County in 1832, and Ellenville in 1834. He served as president of Ellenville's glass works and as its postmaster before serving as Wawarsing's town supervisor and on the Ulster County Board of Supervisors from 1842 to 1843, 1862 to 1863, and 1866 to 1869, as county clerk from 1843 to 1847, and in the US House of Representatives from 1871 to 1873. He died in 1877.
