Joseph Champlin Stone

Joseph Champlin Stone (30 July 1829-3 December 1902) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-IO 1) from 4 March 1877 to 3 March 1879, succeeding George W. McCrary and preceding Moses A. McCoid.

Biography[]

Joseph Champlin Stone was born in Westport, New York in 1829, and he moved to the Iowa Territory in 1844. He served in the 1st Iowa Cavalry Regiment during the American Civil War before practicing medicine in Burlington, Iowa, and he served in the US House of Representatives from 1877 to 1879.
