Joseph Berchtold (10 August 1910-), born Jakob Grobben, was a Polizeirat of the Hamburg Police during the 1960s. Born in Flensburg, he joined the SS (number 221547) and reached the rank of Obersturmbannführer during World War II. After the war, he joined ODESSA and falsified his identity in order to join the police, which became a safe haven for several other neo-Nazis.
