
Jose Dolores Estrada Morales (1869-6 April 1939) was President of Nicaragua from 20 to 29 August 1910, succeeding Jose Madriz and preceding Juan Jose Estrada. He was a member of the Liberal Party of Nicaragua.
Biography[]
Jose Dolores Estrada Morales was born in Managua, Nicaragua in 1869, and he came from a family of liberal artisans; he was the brother of Juan Jose Estrada. From 1901 to 1903, he served as Mayor of Managua, and he was a progressive and popular mayor who built Central Park. After the fall of Jose Santos Zelaya in the liberal-conservative revolution led by Juan Jose Estrada, his successor Jose Madriz was weakened and forced to resign, and Jose Dolores Estrada Morales briefly served as President before transferring power to his brother. He died in 1939.
