
Jose Antonio Pimenta Bueno (4 December 1803-19 February 1878) was Prime Minister of Brazil from 29 September 1870 to 7 March 1871, succeeding Joaquim Rodrigues Torres and preceding Jose Paranhos.
Biography[]
Jose Antonio Pimenta Bueno was born in Santos, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1803, and he became a magistrate before sreving as a judge in Maranhao and as a diplomat. Originally a Liberal, he defected to the Conservative Party in 1848, although he continued to support the abolition of slavery. He served as Prime Minister from 1870 to 1871, and he died in 1878.
