
Jorge Soto Del Corral (6 April 1904-28 June 1955) was the Colombian Liberal Party Mayor of Bogota from March to November 1944, succeeding Carlos Sanz de Santamaria and preceding Gabriel Paredes Gomez.
Biography[]
Jorge Soto Del Corral was born in Bogota, Colombia in 1904, a descendant of Juan del Corral. He practiced law before founding the Bogota Stock Exchange. He served as Minister of Government under President Alfonso Lopez Pumarejo before serving as Mayor in 1944. He later served as a representative, and he was shot in the leg during a gunfight between representatives Carlos Del Castillo and Gustavo Jimenez Jimenez on 8 September 1949. He was left bedridden until his death on 28 June 1955.
