Joniel Chinea (1970-2008) was an American policeman who served in the New York Police Department (NYPD) during the 2000s. In 2008, he and several other NYPD officers were gunned down in a shootout with Luis Fernando Lopez and his associates at Randalls and Wards Islands while responding to a shootout between the Dominican gangsters and the Korean Mob.
