
Jonathan Luther Jackson (born 7 January 1966) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-IL 1) from 3 January 2023, succeeding Bobby Rush.
Biography[]
Jonathan Luther Jackson was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Jesse Jackson and the brother of Jesse Jackson Jr.. He served as an aide-de-camp to his father, an international social justice activist, visiting Syria in 1983 and Cuba in 1984 to negotiate the release of American hostages. He went on to become the national spokesman for the Rainbow/PUSH coalition and a partner in a beer distribution company, and, in 2022, he ran for thte US House of Representatives as a Democrat, being elected to fill the retiring Bobby Rush's open seat.
