
Jonathan Harvey Rowell (10 February 1833-15 May 1908) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-IL 14) from 4 March 1883 to 3 March 1891, succeeding Joseph Gurney Cannon and preceding Benjamin F. Funk. Born in Haverhill, New Hampshire, he was raised in Illinois and served in the 17th Illinois Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War. After the war, he practiced law in Bloomington before serving in Congress.
