Biography[]

Jonathan Tester was born in Havre, Montana on 21 August 1956, and he graduated from the University of Great Falls in 1978. Tester was a farmer for several years, raising wheat, barley, lentils, peas, millet, buckwheat, and alfalfa. In 1998, he was elected to the Montana Senate, and he served in the State Senate until 2007, when he was elected to the US Senate. Tester was a member of the Democratic Party, and he supported abortion rights, stem cell research, increased funding for public education, gun rights, and opposition to big business.
