Jon Kuvlung

Jon Kuvlung (1150-December 1188) was a Norwegian pretender during the Norwegian Civil War and the alleged son of King Inge I of Norway.

Biography[]

Jon Kuvlung was born in 1150, the alleged son of King Inge I of Norway. He was a young cleric before former supporters of Magnus V of Norway proclaimed him King at Tonsberg in 1185. Jon ruled from Viken, rebelling against King Sverre of Norway. In 1186, he attacked Nidaros and took Sverre by surprise, only to be killed in a failed attack on Bergen in 1188.
