Johnny Tyler was an American outlaw of the Wild West. He led "The Slopers" faction in Tombstone, Arizona Territory and attempted to gain control of the town's gambling industry, frustrating Milt Joyce by scaring off all of the upper-class clientele at the Oriental Saloon. In 1881, the newcomer Wyatt Earp confronted Tyler and repeatedly slapped him across the face before throwing him out of the saloon and telling him to never come back again. Tyler later approached Earp from behind with a shotgun, but he was called out by Doc Holliday, and he was forced to stand down. He went on to move his games to Leadville, Colorado, where he met Holliday again.
