
John Valcoulon Le Moyne (17 November 1828-27 July 1918) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-IL 3) from 6 May 1876 to 3 March 1877, succeeding Charles B. Farwell and preceding Lorenzo Brentano.
Biography[]
John Valcoulon Le Moyne was born in Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania in 1828, the son of the abolitionist Francis Julius LeMoyne. He became a lawyer in Pittsburgh in 1852 before moving to Chicago, Illinois. He was an unsuccessful Liberal Party candidate for US Congress in 1872, but he went on to serve in the US House of Representatives from 1876 to 1877 as a Democrat. He lost for re-election and moved to Baltimore in 1887, and he died in 1918.
