John T. Bird

John Taylor Bird (16 August 1829-6 May 1911) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-NJ 3) from 4 March 1869 to 3 March 1873, succeeding Charles Sitgreaves and preceding Amos Clark Jr..

Biography[]

John Taylor Bird was born in Bloomsbury, Hunterdon County, New Jersey in 1829, and he became a lawyer in 1855. He moved to Clinton in 1858 and to Flemington in 1865, and he served as the Hunterdon County prosecutor of pleas from 1862 to 1867. Bird went on to serve in the US House of Representatives from 1869 to 1873, and he died in 1911.
